Good mornin to you my friend, this is Lee Poskey.
Today I want to highlight an extreme danger that’s prolific in the world of religion. The danger of good-looking morality being presented as a component of the gospel of salvation. (What is in essence repackaged roman catholicism).
How many of you reading this post are willing to lay your works of morality in mixture with Christ’s finished work before God to justify you?
Well that’s exactly what Franklin Graham is telling you to do if you want to be saved.
The fact is, it’s ONLY by the finished work of Christ imputed to the guilty sinner that someone can stand justified before God. The Holy Spirit then moves into a regenerate person to guide their thinking and conduct. But a person is NEVER justified before God by a mixture of their morality + Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.
I’m going to show you the proof of Franklin Graham’s heresy as rapidly as the first 1.5 minutes of this video. Play the video, and (from 1:20-1:45), you’re going to hear from his own mouth what he believes that you must do to be saved.
Here’s that same doctrine taken directly from his website:
“for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit”
However scripture clearly teaches that salvation is obtained by grace through faith, not of works lest any man should boast, a free gift by the obedience of one.
[Should we always be turning away from sin? Of course. But our justification before God is only on the grounds of Christ’s work, not ours].
8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
17 “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
So where do you stand?
Are you trusting only in what Jesus has already done to get you into heaven?
Or, are you like Franklin, trusting in a mixture of your flawed morality + Jesus to get you into heaven?
Here’s screenshots from his official website, (as well as his organization “Samaritan’s purse”) which substantiates that he teaches the false gospel:
[I find it alarming when multi millionaires who live in luxury (wealth from ministry I might add), can’t see their own hypocrisy when they teach other people that they have to repent “of their sins” or “surrender their lives” for God to save them.
How about Franklin Graham, John McArthur, and all of the other wealthy preachers out there “surrender all” and give all of their wealth to the poor. It would be nice to see them bear the burden that they saddle everyone else with].
“For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.”
14 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.“
1 Corinthians 15.1-4
1 “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:“
9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.“
All glory to the risen Lord Jesus Christ, and no glory to us whatsoever!
