I once saw a piece of paper tacked to a church wall that told some of the best advice I’ve ever heard.

It read…

“If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging”

[In other words, stop engaging in attitudes & actions that perpetuate the mess you’re in]

And that good advice applies here as well.

There’s so many religious snares out there (concoctions of extrabiblical sinful men), and we have no business following any of them.
They’re all distractions, and they fog our view of the simplicity of the gospel & grace.

Such as (but not limited to):

dispensationalism, calvinism, arminianism, pentecostalism, preterism, prosperity, legalism, and roman catholicism.

So if you’re caught up in any of that mess, now’s the time to cut your losses and run from it.
And don’t be embarrassed that you’ve made a mistake in your pursuit of knowledge either; learn from your experience and move on.
(I’ve done it many times myself, so please understand that my intention is in kindness, to help you).

Therefore I leave you with some appropriate scripture to bolster your departure from false religion:

2 Corinthians 11:3

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”

1 Corinthians 1.8-13

8 “Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?”

Colossians 2:8

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

All glory to the risen Lord Jesus Christ, and no glory to us whatsoever!
