When sampling the thinking of the average person, you’ll find that most people think themselves to be a basically good person. Which gives way to their belief that God’s purpose is to serve their needs. (Why doesn’t God take away my cancer? Why does God allow the coronavirus? Why did He allow the storm to ravage our community?)

However if the veil of spiritual blindness is taken away from a sinner, the truth of who we are and what we deserve is made known with unflinching clarity.
That all of us only deserve hell, and God’s justice owes us nothing but His wrath because of our trespasses and sins.

Romans 3.10-12:
10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

Which makes His elect appreciate His mercy all the more. God’s mercy is more priceless to us than any treasure on earth.

So if you aren’t sure if Christ has been formed in you, call upon the risen Lord Jesus Christ to save you right now.
Receive His forgiveness and righteousness, and be reconciled unto God.

John 6.37-40:

37 “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
