In the two verses of scripture below, notice how bible verses can communicate related events right next to one another, but the events will actually occur a great span of time apart from one another. (In this case, I read that the time between Isaiah and Jesus’ birth was somewhere around 700 years).

That’s very interesting isn’t it? How interesting is it to consider that the actual people being spoken to a the time of this prophesy, would have been dead many generations before this prophesy would come to pass?

This sort of awareness is helpful to us, so that we can avoid errant conclusions that a fulfillment of prophesy is near the time it was prophesied.

Isaiah 7.13-14

13 “And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?

14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
